- Normally we don't focus on one particular used record in these blog posts, but we wanted to highlight this killer album.  Weldon Irvine's "Cosmic Vortex (Justice Divine" is a spiritual jazz funk monster.  It's up on our new wall display.  To hear the track "Love Jones," from the album visit our related blog - bonneythekid.com.  Come pick it up and check out the rest of the top notch records we have on our wall display. 

- Beach House is releasing their second official Sub Pop album, "Bloom," today!  We have several copies of the limited edition "Loser" version which comes on white vinyl.  We also have one copy of the Glow In the Dark version of the record which is one of only 250 copies.  Every Beach House purchase includes a sticker, special handbill for today, and a limited edition poster.  

- We also have a lot of great used records that came in over the weekend including some rare copies of old rock n' roll magazines from Circus, Punk Rock, High Times, and Rolling Stone.  

- We are amped about some super discounted goodies we just put into the store.  First off we have a load of records from Secretly Canadian Distribution that we are selling at $8 or less.  Records from the likes of Bon Iver, Tallest Man on Earth, Okkervil River, Magnolia Electric Company, Damien Jurado, War On Drugs, Jens Lekman, John Wilkes Booze, A Place To Bury Strangers, and so many more. 

- If that wasn't enough we have several back issues of the critically acclaimed Wax Poetics magazine for $5.  Also, we have the super thick hardback edition of the Wax Poetics Anthology Volume 2 for only $16.  And finally from Wax Poetics we have $8 copies of Wax Poetics records from Melvyn Price and 9dw.  So much good stuff that won't break the bank. 

- We now have three used record players for sale.  We still have a Pioneer, the unit with speakers that you see, and a Numark TT 1625 sale that plays like brand new.  We also have a bunch of used records that have come in.  We have the ones you see along with others from the likes of Al Green, Bob Marley, Led Zeppelin, Roxy Music, Will the Circle Be Unbroken Compilation, Velvet Underground, Stetsasonic, Parliament/Funkadelic, along with plenty of used classical and new $1 records. 

-  We also have the brand new Hope For A Golden Summer CD for sale.  It's entitled "Life Inside the Body,"  and the critics are raving about it.   A special new record deal will be unveiled next week so stay posted.

- Tickets for DJ Quest Love's (The Roots, Late Night w/ Jimmy Fallon) special DJ set for this Sunday, April 29th @ The Blind Tiger are now ONLY $20!!!  This is a significant reduction from the original ticket prices.  Come to CFBG's to get yours before it's sold out.  Please Note: We only accept CASH for Blind Tiger concerts and we ask that you bring exact change if possible.

- It's almost here!  Record Store Day is happening at CFBG's this Saturday, April 21st from 11 am - 9pm.  As you can see from the flier above we'll have live DJ's from 11 am - 6 pm, and live bands from 6-9 pm featuring The Bronzed Chorus, Switchblade 85, and Pistol Crash.  In addition to the live music we'll of course be carrying some of the exclusive Record Store Day releases along with the unveiling of hundreds of new & used records!  

In terms of the exclusive RSD stuff we'll have releases by Merge Records, Thrill Jockey Records, Sub Pop, and more.  We'll be sending out a list of the releases we're getting along with all the Free Giveaways we'll have on our email list.  If you're not on the e-mail list ask to be added at cfbg.records@gmail.com

BIG HUGE THANK YOU TO EVERYONE THAT CAME OUT AND SUPPORTED CFBG's for our first ever Record Store Day.  It was a tremendous success. 

- In case you didn't know we are becoming your record player/record accessory one stop shop.  We just got in two nice used record players.  We have a Crosley (with carrying case) and a Pioneer.  We also now have record crates for sale along with nice plastic sleeves to protect those precious finds.  And don't forget we can order any record parts (needles, belts, etc) you may need and we have someone locally that does repairs.
